tightening om606 injection pump lines
Okay so I didn't tighten the injection pump lines tight enough and they leak ever so slightly at the top after I resealed the IP.
How can I tighten those up short of removing the intake manifold. there is NO easy access I can see short of removing the manifold. this is on a turbo engine btw.

Yes definitely try the w/w bottle route first. Should give enough access to tweak those line nuts with a shorty open end wrench.
Although after pulling intakes on an OM642 I will never complain about pulling the intake on a OM60x engine again... just sayin’ If after tightening the line still leaks then it probably has a micro fracture at the end of the line. This happens if the line clips and bumpers are not intact. BTDT on my OM606. The P.O. zip tied the lines together which caused the #2 line to fail.

I was surprised at how much room is available after getting the washer bottle out of the way. A claw foot on a short extension may work

Guys thank you for the tip with the washer bottle. I had a lot of frustration with the intake manifold going back together. it fought me every step of the way.
Are new injection headlines available? also the clips DO not want to go back together and are very difficult. also it is missing some of those rubber bumpers.

In my experience, unsupported lines will snap off at the fitting ( twice, until you get the line secured ). You can replace all the plastic clips and rubber pads ( PITA ). I have slit 2" sections of rubber fuel line and slipped them over each hard line at the brackets and used a zip tie to secure them to the brackets. It is a lot easier then the clips and I have never had a failure.

The clips are only a pain if you try and do it with your fingers. A large flat screwdriver and a rubber mallet makes it easy to give some gentle persuasion to pop them into place.

Well that screwdriver tip worked. I used my palm as the mallet and they went in like a charm. They are a royal PITA as much as that intake manifold.
