W126 Upper control arm size

Looking for some clarification on something. Can someone measure the top section of their upper control arms? I installed a new Karlyn part yesterday and had to grind it down quite a bit in order to get it to fit. My the replaced part (original Mercedes) came out to 80mm and the new part said 84mm. I contacted Karlyn and they said that their part is to spec. This doesn't make much sense seeing the size difference and what I had to do to get it to fit. Or is this yet another "this only ever happens to me situation".....

What year and model are we talking about? It's possible there's some sort of model or production year break.

Consider adding a picture of the part in question to this thread. Adjacent to the part place a scale so that the location on the part of the "80mm/84mm" dimension can be determined. Why? Because there are many dimensions to all parts.
