Need help pricing my 1985 300TD Wagon

I have finally decided to let my beloved wagon go. I have been doing a little research and I can't seem to find what they go for nowadays. I've found a few for sale but the prices are all over $12k for ones with 200k miles. I doubt they are selling for that. I used to come here all the time when I had time to work on my cars and I learned a lot from you guys and I appreciate everything.

So I was wanting to get some real world perspective here on what these things go for now. Here are some of the details.

It's an 85 300TD wagon, 174k miles, minimal rust (there are a few places but I have pics of all that). Fairly clean inside. Has the luggage rack bars, but one is broke, vacuum system isn't the best (I believe its the pods in the dash). Dash is pretty good shape. Leaks a bit of oil. Paint is good and bad. I think the previous owner had it repainted (same color though).

Now a couple years ago the city was repaving a road and they ground down the pavement so far that my wife tried to straddle a manhole and she caught the driverside fender where it goes in front of the car on the manhole... I saw it as soon as I got home from work. Then a couple weeks later I hit a friggin deer on the same side lol. So we have a little bit of damage there. I have a lot of filters and parts to go along with her too.

Here's a link to some photos. I took a lot. So what do you think I should ask for?

She was our daily driver up until March when I got a new vehicle. Now she just sits. I go out and start her every month and let her warm up and keep the battery fresh. We don't drive her anymore and let all the tags expire and took her off the insurance.

they’ve been going for crazy money on BAT. One sold for 35K a few weeks ago, and some posters on this forum were saying it was a piece of junk, etc. It’s anybody’s guess what you could get, but there are definitely people out there who go nuts for wagons.

Don't let anybody lowball you. $750 and I'm coming to get it.

If you got the fender fixed, and tarted it up that's probably a BAT car.

Just about any TD that isn’t a rust bucket is a BaT car. One with over 250k and a salvage title went for 7500 or thereabouts. You should do pretty well there if you want to slap a reserve on it and see how she is received.

But I think now is the time to sell if you're going to, *chef kiss* quality restorations were going for 17-20k last year, and that $35k one showed a bunch of cut corners in the pics.

Let us know what it eventually sells for, here in So. Cal. it's maybe a $1,500 car .

In WV I assume there aren't many left, this one looks O.K. but you mentioned rust and the paint is kaput so YMMV.......
