240d 1982 clutch slave cylinder rod not coming out

I have a 1982 240d 4 speed manual and I was able to remove the fluid line and the 2 bolts needed to remove the slave cylinder but the push rod won't come out of the hole in the transmission.

Is it possible that it's bent? I was expecting it to slide right out but I've tried to pull on it at every angle and haven't had any luck.

I hope I don't need to pull the transmission.

Any ideas on getting this rod out?

Thanks,

pete

I put a little crow bar on the push rod while pulling on it and I was able to get it out.

Not sure why it was so difficult but I guess you guys can add it to your knowledge base if you ever had this problem.

I know the bleeding can be a PITA but I was expecting this problem.
