Any solutions found for sliding sun roof s123?

Going to need to find a solution to replace the seals in the 85 wagon's sunroof. Has anyone had any luck sourcing parts or a work around?

Are they different from the sedan? For my W123 300D, a vendor initially sent me a Uro seal. It was totally wrong shape. Returned it and bought the proper OE seal. It fitted fine, although a bit of a trick to install.

There are threads here about welding roof closed, and using 3M tape to seal the sunroof closed from the outside.

It's more of the felt strips etc that I'm looking for.

I caulked a driver's sunroof with black silicone. It didn't leak....or open.

Supposedly The Kent is going to be making the felt strips, since they're no longer available. But I don't see anything yet. It seems like he was going to use an existing material and modify it, so it's likely possible to do yourself if you can find something close enough. Maybe from a later model?

gave up for now and sealed it off

my 85 wagon had been sneaking water in the sunroof ,unknown, for years. Water started to pool behind drivers seat and drip by the back hatch when it rained a lot. Drain system to the back was failing but would be a lot of work to get to. I cleaned out a unreal amount of rust inside the front of the roof opening, treated visible rust with ospho, coated it with sp-400 to prevent more damage, then sealed the hatch with a bead of Loctite PL-S30 polyurethane caulk (takes a few days to fully cure).

I had to seal it up because by the time I realized what was going on that sunroof water was quickly destroying a good running car. The worst thing about rust in a confined area is that it attracts and holds moisture, creating perpetual rusting.

I recall installing them, but can't recall where I got them. It was about 8 years ago. Someone may have NOS? How about suppliers in Germany, UK? Or as suggested just make up something using old ones as a guide.

My SD was getting water on the floor and keeping the drains and gutters clean seems to have fixed it.

I'm desperately on the hunt for the side seals as well. Stings that MB wants to kill off these cars this way.
