w124 wagon interior c pillar trim removal and fix?

The interior c-pillar trim on one side of a w124 wagon that I'm working on is falling off. It looks like there is supposed to be some plastic that slides into a metal clip at the top and possibly two prongs at the bottom that would probably go behind the carpeted wheel well cover. At any all of those are broken on one side of the car so the trim just falls off and hangs on the seat belt.

Has anyone ever found a fix for attaching this trim if the plastic brackets are broken?

Also, I'm going to need to take the other c pillar trim off which isn't currently broken. What is the correct method to remove these?

thanks

I recently fixed a similar problem with the c pillar on the 124 sedan. I constructed new clips by carving them from some scrap plastic and attached them to the panel with 2 part epoxy. I also reinforced the whole panel with a layer of epoxy since it was really deteriorating and was quite brittle. You have to use the plastic version of epoxy and let it cure for a couple of days to get to full strength.

I was able to sort of fix it temporarily with some velcro. Not a real fix but should work temporarily.

There is also a slot for a u-nut in the b-pillar if you can deal with the sight of a big fender washer and a #12/14 screw in your trim.
That how I sorted my dangling b-pillar in my sedan
