240D/300D Automatic transmission compatibility
I have a spare transmission from a 1983 300d turbo. I have a 240D that I run pretty hard( hauling parts and a lot of camping gear up steep hills etc.) I have a feeling that sooner or later my transmission is going to go out. Just wondering what the combatibilty of a 300d turbo automatic is to a 240d engine. Thanks for your input!

Run an external transmission cooler and be done with it. Bypass the radiator if you're under some serious load often.
If I can do it, you can too. https://www.amazon.com/70266-SuperCooler-Automatic-Transmission-Cooler/dp/B000CIKCQ2 I'd also add a bigger oil cooler that's thermostatically controlled.

Sorry, I don't know;but, stating the year and chassis type of the 240D will get a more accurate answer.
Good luck!!!
