A friend brought a 4 yr old air compressor with 850 hours on it to the shop that is driven by a 4 cyl diesel non turbo Isuzu engine. Problem is it smokes during start up. Seems he loaned it out to be used at a chemical plant for a period of time and got it back with this issue. It seems to take a long time to start and smokes pretty heavily only during start up. It runs good with no unusual noises after it is up to rpm and loaded up. Air cleaner is fine along with the glow plugs. Plans are to maybe pull injectors and send to Bosch shop. I'm thinking they probably ran some unleaded regular gasoline through it.
