'83 240d clutch slave cylinder issues

I want to bomb this car into Oblivion.

Per my other threads. Purchased this pretty clean 83 240 from Austin tx and drove it home 7.5 hrs. Oil cooler line got cut by the belt and blew on the way home.

Towed it back, replaced both lines and the cooler because I damaged it.

On the way home, I had a pretty minor fluid leak from the passenger side of the trans. Lost usage of the clutch. Kept filling the reservoir up when necessary to get home.

Have been driving it but yesterday it got to the point where fluid was pouring out. Got under it and saw a crack in the housing of the slave cylinder.

Figured yay! Easy fix. Parts house had a new slave cylinder.

Installed today. Went to pump fluid into the bleeder on the back. Pissing fluid out of the fitting on top of the slave.

What goes? Is the fitting bad? Is there supposed to be a seal between the fitting and the slave? How tight does the line need to be? I got it as tight as I could with a short 12mm wrench with a slot cut in it. Should I get a crows foot and try to crank on it more, or is something else causing it?

Any guidance is greatly appreciated
