Well, I have a 89 190D 2.0 Aut.
Recently i got a good deal on a working 722.435 transmission. Seller told me it would fit on my 190D but now I have gotten worried that it wont. What do you guys say?
My car is fitted with a good running 722.403 at the moment and i actually bought the other one just to try and do refurb on it and if it worked out, put it on my car and maybe refurb and sell the 722.403 But to my "dissapointment" the K1 clutch and the brakeband looks brand new, still with the machining marks on the outside, and visible text on the friction material.
K2 clutch has machining marks on the outside too, but i havent taken it out yet, only seen it through the bottom after taking the valve body off.
One thing puzzled me though. The K3 frictions discs were flaking off. They looked brand new, with Mercedes logo and part number, but on 2 of the friction discs some the material had flaked off, and I could peel the rest off with my fingernail, what could cause that to happen to what looks like brand new friction discs, and should i be worried that the remainings discs will do the same?
All frictions discs I have seen have been marked with the MB logo and parts number.
I have attached a few photos showin the outside of the K1 & k2 drums and the friction discs that are flaking
