What's my 300SDL worth?
I've got every service record from approx 130K miles. DETAILED service records from 224K to present, 275K. California car until 1996 absolutely NO rust. Paint is shot, has a scratch on the rear fender lip and needs front tires. No other issues.
It will be getting it's injection pump timed next week plus getting my sunroof fixed, again. God knows what this is going to cost me. Here are all of the serivce records I have, http://www.zemkowski.com/87300sdl/service.html Lots of pics here, http://www.zemkowski.com/87300sdl You be the judge, what would you pay? |

Worth
Torbo:
based on the miles driven and the frequency of brake rotor and pad replacement I would say that you exceed the alloable posted speed limits and or you live in a very hilly art of the country. As to the worth of the car. $3500 sounds about right. Personally I don't like my cars "spiced" up so much (see Salt jpg's) Lots of luck Stephen |

Hmm. Well that kinda sucks.
I got 23K miles to my last set of pads, I dont think that's bad. As to the salt, the car has no rust. I was driving in north jersey the night before where they got about 12" of snow, the car was -thoroughly- washed the next day. I considering selling it but for $3500 it's just not worth it. Just getting a little tired of diesels, I've driven this car for about 52K miles, plus my 300D for about 35K miles. I've driven diesels far more than I've driven gas cars in my life. |

why not keep one and sell one?! just remember, when the gas is all gone there will still be diesel (1974-5.. gas crisis)

The only diesel I own right now is the 300SDL. Just an idea I had about selling it, don't know if I will.

If you were to sell it, what did you have in mind as a replacement vehicle?

Thinking of getting another Crown Vic police interceptor. A 1999 or 2001. They are fast, and last damn near forever; excellent drivetrain. And I'm not a fan of american cars. I had a 1998 and i'm sorry I sold it.
I just want something newer, and something I don't have to constantly maintain. More power on tap would be really nice too. |

Yeah, I agree those Crown Vics last forever.
I travel a lot and spend time in many Crown Vic Taxi's. I can't tell you how many I've been in that have 400,000-500,000 miles. And then when they're done with'em, they sell them to Mexico, and they are recycled as police cars and driven some more! And the good thing is that they depreciate like crazy so they are a good used car value. In fact, I looked at and test drove several Crown Vics before I got the 93 300E.
