My car has been sitting for about a year and a half. I took it for a quick drive and I put the front windows down. When I returned home, the front windows wouldn't go back up. The rear windows work fine

I changed the "G" (front windows) fuse and it wasn't that. When I press up on the drivers window, the comfort relay clicks under the back seat. There was a small amount of liquid under the rear seat, so it's entirely possible the something got fried in the comfort relay.

I had a buddy jiggle the "G" fuse when I held the up button on the 2 front windows. The passenger side when up, but the drivers side did not. When he stopped jiggling the fuse, the passenger window automatically went back down.

I'm thinking the comfort relay is bad and I think I'm just gonna buy a new one. I was just wondering if anyone had an issue similar to mine. I've read many posts on here about stuck windows, but I couldn't really find one about windows being stuck down, only stuck shut.

Yes, it was just the comfort relay. $35 on ebay and the windows work fine now.

I've got the right rear passenger window stuck up, and was reading your post. Perhaps you could explain the Comfort relay and other info in your post?

windows down, but not back up! My first thought is sticky center console windows switches, as in someone spilled soda on them or something like that. So before I take the door panels off to check the windows for mechanical problems, I checked the switches for electrical problems. It struck me as odd that more than one window was misbehaving at the same time for the same reason. Also, when I pushed the window down switch, then went all the way down automatically. That is a function of the convenience module. Then it struck me. The convenience module will open all then windows when you put the key in the driver's door and hold it in the unlocked position for more than a couple of seconds. It is a quick way to cool off the car when it has been parked in the sun on a hot day. The convenience module will also close all the windows if you use the lock the car from the driver's door. I tried it. It worked! The convenience module was badly misbehaving.

Unfortunately it was not to be, or should I say, B2.

It would be a good idea, for anything that old, to go through every electronic box in the vehicle. I would check for water intrusion and replace any electrolytic capacitors on principle.

sorry. I may have called it by the wrong name. In my 92 sedan there is a module under the driver side rear seat.

It looks like this:


It was the only thing I could think of that automatically lowers the windows. I replaced this module and my windows work now.

as other people have said, it would be your switches or maybe a window regulator?
