Upgrading interior dash lights

Hello everyone,
Can folks post pics of their upgraded dash lights? Are there any kits out there to consider? I would like to brighten mine up in my 83 wagon.

Bypassing the rheostat made the bulbs as bright as I'll ever need them. Any brighter and it would be too distracting driving down dark roads.

Thanks for the feedback! I thought about bypassing the rheostat. I might try those led bulbs first though. I’m a lucky guy to have found this car.

Note that changing the wattage of Battery Charging Light changes the alternator charging. From what I have read you need at least 3 watts.

Correct, however the battery charging light is not part of the dash illumination lighting.

No telling how people might interpret that. Speaking up about the charging light might help avoid some grief.

Correct, the charging light is part of the charging circuit.

Wow .

I took my binnacle all apart and cleaned the light guides, polished the clear cover, by passed the rheostat and they're good now unless I'm somewhere where the outside light is really bright then it's hard to see the gauges .

I should go look for those LED-T10 bulbs on Amazon .

Don't suppose we could also get a pic of the "grain of rice" LED replacements that live in the dash/climate control/dome/trunk?

Used the same bulbs in my 91 300D. I had to pop the frosted plastic dome off the top of the bulb though... fit perfectly after that.

This looks great! Is it just a plug and play?
