Question on intake manifold
I bought an OM603 NA intake manifold with plans to modify for an intercooler setup.
I didnt notice in the pictures, but once I got it I found it has a brass nipple sticking out right above the flange, one for each cylinder. Can anyone tell me what they are used for in the stock application? |

Your gonna run an intercooler on a NA engine?

No, mine is a turbo model. The intake on a NA model has an
open port to each pipe on the same side vs the crossover pipe on the turbo model, which seems more adaptable for an intercooler. |

Oh I see. That's cool.

They are inlets for the blowby gases from the crankcase.
The crankcase breather hose on top of the valve cover connects to the inlets, via the multi-piece plastic crankcase breather pipe unit that fits the nipples. As you are aware, the inlets will need to be sealed when you use the intake manifold with your intercooler. ![]() See video at 5:00 and 7:10 minutes in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvdd2xJeQHI
