99 W210 TD, finally got my first CEL
It's been on for a few weeks now. It'll come on for a few days, go off for a day or so, come back, etc. I broke out my trusty code reader and it gave me some weird P01 80/$80 but said fuel temp sensor a circuit.
From what I've seen on Google (mostly on other Benz models) it's either the sensor itself, or just a dirty connection. I looked for a fuel temp sensor on FCP Euro where I get all my Benz parts and it didn't have anything. What is the proper name for the sensor that I need? |

Fuel temperature sensor on OM606 is integrated in the fuel valve.
The valve is bolted to the side of the injection pump and has 3 hoses and 1 electrical connector. It can be replaced without removing the intake manifold if you pull out the washer tank and reach in that way. It would be a good idea to replace the valve as they can leak internally and wick diesel up the engine harness through the connector.
