Buying a quality assortment of fuses 1980 240d june 2020

Hi.
I would like a current recommendation on where to buy an assortment of quality fuses for my 1980 240d. I am in the NE Georgia Area and can also order online.

Also, wouldn’t it be nice if someone 3-d printer an upgraded fuse block for these cars using modern blade style fuses?

Thanks

No it wouldn't be nice.

To check a blade style fuse you need either a test light, a meter or just pull it out. With the original style fuse you only need to look at it to tell if it's blown.

I’ve bought NOS ceramic/brass fuses on eBay.

The key is clean connections...

Brass/Ceramic fuses will last indefinitely. They're available all over the Internet. As mentioned above, clean the connections before installing. If you want to take out some extra insurance, smear some electrical-rated dielectric grease on the ends of the fuse before installing.

Don't waste your time with plastic bodies or copper fuses. The copper will oxidize with time and humidity and is soft enough to deform from vibrations like the aluminum ones do. Plastic bodies will get warm and melt. Avoid.
