Removing injectors from '87 603 cylinder head?

My buddy called and asked me how to get the injectors out of his 603 head? Remove from the top of from the inside? I said "I can't remember". He doesn't want to screw it up so I offered to ask. Is there a wiki on refurbishing and lapping the 6 cylinder head? Or on removing the injectors? Thanks.

The injectors just unthread from the prechambers. 27mm (1 1/16") extra deep socket is required.

The Socket for the injectors needs to be deep enough that it does not bend or scar the little return line nipples on the Injectors.

A12 point Deep Socket is less likely to do that then a 6 point Deep Socket.

Not the best attached picture. What you would like to see is that the socket is deep all the way down to the bottom where the square drive is. You don't want the little nipples touching any metal.

He will also need a torque wrench and the proper torque specs and new Heat Shields and know which side of the Heat Shied faces the Injector.
