Swapping gas to diesel would not be worth it at all, tons of wiring and ECU to worry about, would be easier to just find a gas one. The diesel conversion was no easy task either, specifically finding the correct engine mounting arms to fit a 2.2 in place of a 2.3 gasser.
I'd safely assume anything with the 2.2 will be run off the road in LA....I had to be quite cautious about that, short on-ramps were a danger zone, merging into 75mph traffic at barely 40mph full throttle is a bit terrifying. The 2.5 turbo will be fast enough to keep up and get out of its own way.
