OM602 Injection pump problem
Hi folks i hope you all doing fine
i have a problem no i mean my friend has a problem ![]() he has a nice 1992 w201 2.5d with 300k km recently he had some vibrations in the engine and a Stupid mechanic has found that the injector n° 3 dont fire at all in idle so he open the side of the injection pump and done something to fix the prblm and he fixed it but now the car runs horribly after that my friend decided to replace the injection pump and its not worth the hassels to repair it because in our country Unfortunately we dont have specialistes or a bosch cerified mechanic . nothing ![]() if something broke its better to replace it Luckily a friend of us has 3 used pumps for dirt cheap PES 5 M 55 C 320 RS 177 PES 5 M 55 C 320 RS 193 PES 5 M 55 C 320 RS 170 and the car had : PES 5 M 55 C 320 RS 173 so we take the friend advice and choosed the 170 pump he told us that its for the older models now the car runs great and very smooth but again it had some issus of course ![]() the pump jurks in about 1100 rpm and the idle speed drops alot from 800 to about 400 rpm when turning the wheel or turning the headlights and accessories. sometimes even stalls when turning the wheel to lock and the power is slightly low but no smoke at all i think thats isnt normal the timing is set right 15° atdc and new 261 injectors installed now for the questions : is the pump is faulty or its just some adjustments can solve it ? and if we must changed it what pump to choose ? 177 or 193 or 170 or we searche another one ? and for my curiosity what happend to the old one can we repair it ? i learned a great lesson : dont let anyone not qualified to touch your injection pump it can coste you alot now for the videos : the older 173 pump the older 173 pump smoking very bad the older 173 noise and shaking the newer 170 pump noise at 1100 rpm the idle droping when turning the the steering to lock
