Is there an easier way to test the blower fan motor?
For the climate control blower motor, is there a way to TEST it (not replace it) without having to rip half the car apart to get to it?
Arthur Dalton said in his post "The test are made at the 3 wire connector behind the brake booster......Rd/Bk/Yl" Maybe his is set up differently than mine; I don't see any obvious way of testing the blower motor behind my brake booster. Mine is a 1991 300d. To get to the blower motor on mine, I have to take off the entire windshield wiper assembly and other parts underneath that. Thanks. |

On my '91 and '93 the plug Arthur Dalton referred to is near the brake booster on the firewall and worked well for testing. The wires at that plug go to the speed controller and the motor.
Replacing those fan motors is not as bad as it looks. Both of mine were gas, perhaps D is different.

Can you post a picture of your plug?

I don't have them any longer.
An image search on W124 blower plug connector will get you what is needed. It's behind the brake booster mostly in line with the master cylinder. It is an 90 degree, three wire plug that is black in color.
