W124 Alternator and Battery
Well here is the update to the belt tensioner issue...
Spring replaced. Belt is happy. But.... At 1500 rpm laternator is charging at 12.8 volts. Took the car to Oh Really for a charging system check. I was told the battery was bad, and VR on the alternator is bad. I am thinking about replacing the whole alternator since it is the original one. I betthe stator is grooved pretty well. In my w123 at 200K miles the stator was pretty well shot. The battery is an Interstate Megatron II. I do not know the age, as it came with the car. When I started the car, the ABS light stayed on, until I revved the engine a bit. So, I will also check the OVP. Grounding points are clean and tight.
