Looking at a 85'300dt wagon
Found a nice 2 owner 300dt with 239k miles. It has all records and new Michelins. The A/C works and it is in great, rust free condition. Ga car. They are wanting $3850 for it but that sounded a little high. What do you guys think would be a fair offer? Thanks again for all your opinions!
later,

It seems the wagons are all priced a little high (at least thats what I've noticed), but I guess people are willing to pay the premium for the added space.

Agree with Trelinsky. I want the extra two seats a wagon offers, but it's not worth the generally high price.
I'm sure a sedan will do me just fine.

yeah, that is a little high but,
Compare it to the price of a new one (like they sell diesels here, but anyway) at around $55,000.
Which would you rather have - 14.29 old ones or 1 new one? A comparision to Audi, Volks, Volvo wouldn't be that much different. No matter what you pay, be prepared to get you hands dirty and knuckles skinned and buy about $1000 in replacement parts, and dedicate several weekends in the first year. later

In addition to the extra carrying space Wagons FEEL different in their riding qualities. They are also treasured for being tough in places like Africa where they are regularly ordered with the " bad roads" springs....

Joe - where is that car. I need to take a look at it and make sure it would not be a money pit for you . I would hate to see you get stuck with something you would have to "tinker" with.
The worst thing about living in rural Ga is the fact that used W123's are few and far between.

Thanks man, It is in Atl and I was gonna try and see it closer this weekend. I will let you guys know what I find. What is a good test for checking the rear suspension? Make sure it is not dragging the ground? Thanks,
Joe

Have Donnie look at it!!
I was in San Diego recently and there was one or two wagons with 250K miles for alot less. Like 2500 bucks. Should be close to perfect for that much!!
