PF Condenser manifold
Not sure what else to call this thread...
A new PF condenser has magically come my way, which I'll soon be fitting to my 240D. The new condenser comes with #8 and #6 fittings, the original with #6 and #10. I believe this is an issue that most people encounter. Most of the solutions I've come up with have been either asinine or expensive. What I'm about to propose might land in the company of the former. That said, If I can avoid fabricating new hoses, I'd sure like to. Here are both condensers side by side. Notice the manifold/connections on the original. ![]() Would it be possible to buy a set of these (#6 and #8, $10) ![]() And braze or weld -not my area- to create something stock looking, allowing me to use my current hose setup? ![]() I was thinking of hack-sawing the OE manifold from a JY condenser and seeing about connecting it to the new PF condenser. I don't know for sure, but I believe the original condenser pipes are aluminum. The fittings in the second image certainly are. Thoughts?
