Speedometer cable won't fish through bulkhead

Hi, I have a 1986 190D.

I am replacing my speedometer cable. The dash is out of the car. I have the old cable out and should have tied some wire to the engine side of the old cable before I pulled it through the dash to make the routing of the new cable easier.

I pushed the new cable through the dash as I sit in the car but can't find the 2nd hole that goes through the bulkhead.

I have tried wire and a hangar but no luck.

Any ideas?
