1986 300D 124 body OVP keeps blowing fuse
OVP relay keeps blowing fuse even when key is off. Ac clutch not engaging, no tach, no auto idle. Starts and runs great. How do I find the load causing this? Seems as though there are 2 prongs on the relay for loads. Any idea?

This blows the fuse, cutting of current to the sensitive systems. One of the easiest to recognize symptoms of a blown OVP fuse or bad OVP relay is that the tachometer will not function. In addition, the A/C compressor will not engage. First try replacing the fuse to see if the blown fuse was a fluke. If the new fuse does not fix it or blows again quickly, you may need to replace the relay. This guide covers both." Well, I learned something. Thanks Diesel911. I looked at the schematic of the OVP relay and wondered if the diodes inside could cause a blowing fuse? The OVP relay for 1986 year model is harder to find
