Just curious
How many of us use our old diesels as a daily driver?
I'll start.....1983 300D 376,250 miles and I drive it 80 miles a day round trip to work and back.

After decades of car collecting, I'm down to just 2 total. Both diesel, so I split time evenly between my "new" 15 yr old with 165k and my "old" 36 yr old with 312k miles on it.

I use my 91 300CE converted to diesel 603 turbo diesel and my 95 E300 with a 5 speed manual transmission and a 603 engine as daily drivers both have updated heads and the mileage is over 400,000 in both

Oh yeah, every day. It’s why we tend to gravitate towards the cars that are mechanically great, but cosmetically “ok”.
So we can drive it to Target and not stress about door dings. When sorted out, they truly are a pleasure to drive, nostalgia aside. |

1983 300SD Daily Driver
My 1983 300SD now has 629,590 miles on it and it is my daily driver. t goes wherever I go. In the past 12 months besides local travel it has been on trips to New York City, Dalton, GA and Southern PA. Original motor has never had the head off and original trans never rebuilt. No one works on her but me.

I've owned my '98 E300 for the last 19 years and use it as my dd. 562K+ on original engine and transmission.

Me too ! .
1982 240D with freshly rebuilt engine, still fooling with various things but it drives -so- nicely I kept it instead of my turbo Diesel coupe . My sweet doesn't drive much, she retired and always wants me to drive her so her '84 300TD graymarket is still low KM's but it runs well .
