W124 blower fan not working

W124 1991 300d.

When I click the button for just outside air or AC on my car, the fan doesn't blow. The compressor WILL kick in if I select ac. But the fan itself will not blow. This happened now about a week ago where after playing with the low/auto/high buttons a few times, the air started to blow.

Today I was out and about, hit the button for ac and .....no air will blow.

Any guesses what it might be and how I might check it? I've had previous times when nothing would work (the ac compressor would not even kick in) and for those times replacing the climate control fixed the problem. But now the ac kicks in, but no air blowing.
