1985 300D Hazard switch wiring repair.

I am resurecting an 85 300D I got from a friend.
Clearly there have been some butchers in here before me. My friend has no history with the car as he purchased it and did nothing with it for 2 years. I am trying to make sense of what is going on. Many extra wires added at every corner of this car.

Currently I am trying to get the turn signals to work. I pulled the shifter cover up to check the wiring at the hazard switch and found a mess.

I have found a few threads discussing hazard and flasher repair but don't see anything conclusive to figure out how to reassemble the connector and get the wire ends in the correct spot.

Thanks for any guidance.

To get a wiring diagram is one of the reasons some purchase a service manual for their car. $6 with free shipping. The used Haynes manuals are usually around $12.

Page 214 of the Haynes Mercedes-Benz Diesel 123 series manual (63012 (697)) Has a wiring diagram, but you need a magnifying glass t read the terminal numbers. My suggestion is going on eBay and see if they have a used one.

Attached pic shows one for bid on eBay. There is also some buy it now ones.

The other way to go is to is if someone can give you a like to some free W123 site or you bought a DVD/CD with the real Mercedes W123 service manual on it.

I can say this. I believe my wife thumped here purse down on the hazard switch too many times and damaged it internally. That took out the turn signals. A new hazard switch fixed the issue.

Hella and Hueco (spelling?) make them.

Alex300SD, Thank you!

That was exactly what I needed. Mine only has 7 terminals, but step by step I made the connections and it works!

Now I have to reassemble the connector and it should be good.

Again, Thank you.
