Apparently this a common problem on W123 chassis cars.
My 240D is no exception. I was hoping that I would be able to fix this by making a panel, however the rust is fairly extensive and the area is not ideal.


I'm thinking the best thing to do would be to find a good section from another car that I could trim and weld in.

This is probably easier said than done as rust is so common in this area.


If anyone has a scrap car that would sell me this section, or knows where I can buy one I would be very interested.


Also interested in other people's rust repairs to this area.
