Need the steps to replace injector seals on W124.

I did the injector seals now about 15 years ago but I forget how to do it. I know there's the spline tool to take the injectors off. I forget what size the replacement O-rings or seals are.

Does anyone have a complete rundown of the steps on how to do the job, and/or a link to a thread with the photos? Changing the seals is not that hard of a job. From memory, you simply take the hard fuel lines off and lift them out of the way. Then you take (?) the upper part of the injector off. You have to make sure you don't lose some little piece that wants to pop up. Take off the O-rings, replace them, then put everything back together again.

THIS POST NOW EDITED.......... I've since found a great video showing the steps...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlB0Uc1qdUk

.....and look who wrote a great post on how to do the job!! It was ME!! I forgot I wrote this but found it on the forum here.........

I haven't done this on a w124 yet, but I just did this on a TDI which should be similar. The only thing I would add is to make sure where the oring (washer) sits in the head is clean before you put them in. also on the injector where the o ring seals to it. Make sure that the fuel lines have the little plastic clips holding them in the right place.

I followed these steps when I replaced the injector seals on my 1995 E300D OM606. I did not have any problems.

The injectors are in the cylinder head of the engine. Sounds like you are speaking of the fuel injection pump delivery valve holders.

The splined socket is cheap on eBay. Just make sure it is one for a Mercedes and not a dodge diesel engine.

How to do the job is somewhere in the below section.

Do you remember what size the O-rings were?

Thanks for posting that. Some of the links on that post are toast now but there's still good info there. One thing he didn't mention is.....what size are the O-rings? His was a 1995 300d, mine's a 1991 300d. I'm assuming they're the same size O-rings but I don't know. Either way, he didn't list a size. He says at one point 7f and 7h, but that doesn't mean anything to me.

Thanks.

I didn't see anything for delivery valve holders for a w124 in there. Any idea what size O-rings to use?

I've found a good video; still need the part numbers though

If anyone has the correct part numbers of the O-rings and copper washers, let me know.

I found this excellent video on how to do the job.

I used aftermarket parts when I replaced them in 2011 on my 95 E300D.

The pump is still completely dry.

I don't know if they are the same for 1991.
