So the latest bad news in my w201 2.0d project issss: worn cams on the camshaft, 2 to be precise.
Mechanic is doing this more precise stuff, which also requires kit I don't have. He says replace camshaft, usual big job. Any thoughts on this kind of job? Many thanks Ben |

I've done 602 and 603's before maybe a 4 or 5 hrs job as I recall. Sometimes the pin for the timing chain can give much grief.

Right sorry it was me who thought of it as a big job. He didn't specify, but it'll cost me about 5-600 euros labour.
Some idiot tampered with something like a cam plate(?) or at least a couple of said item, as two cams have been worn round. Thanks for the replies guys |
