Turn Signal Cancelling Trouble - 1985 300TD

Hey Folks!

Finally getting around to some of the low priority fixes on my 1985 300TD.

Since I've had the car the left turn signal does not cancel unless I spin the wheel about a full rotation. Right turn signal seems to work as expected.

Since the left signal would cancel with sharp turns, I figured the issue was not with the stalk. Since it was pretty worn and dirty, I went ahead and replaced the stalk assembly anyways. As expected, the problem persists.

I took a photo of the little rectangular boss on the steering shaft that cancels the turn signal while the wheels and steering wheel were straight. Does this look like the steering shaft is clocked properly when the wheels are straight?

You might post this in "Tech" forum. This is likely addressed in a YouTube vid. Not that unusual on a car several decades old....

I'd Google for a You Tube fix tutorial.

You can always access your network of MBCA Local membership for dealer, and, Indy advise.
