Transmission 722.112

Hi everyone,

I’ve got a fluid leak coming from the bolt shown in the photo (attached below). I’m not exactly sure what this bolt is for or what it’s sealing.

Does anyone know what this bolt does or what it’s called? And more importantly, how can I stop it from leaking? Is it just a matter of tightening it or does it need a new washer/seal?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It is the adjustment screw for brake band B3, and it appears from the picture that the lock nut is missing.

Is that the blot that that normally has the head sheard off?

What about the drop of fluid on the Nut on the lever above it? That implies that the seal on the shaft the lever is on is leaking.

Thank you for pointing that out. The shaft lever leak has already been fixed — I just posted an old photo. Thanks again!

Thanks for confirming that. I’ll track down the correct lock nut and get it fitted so it’s properly sealed.

I’m trying to track down the correct size and pitch (or the Mercedes-Benz part number) for this nut. Do you happen to know it? Any help would be appreciated!

I’m having a hard time finding the part number for the lock nut no 36. I’ve checked the usual diagrams and parts listings but no luck so far.

Does anyone happen to know the correct part number, or at least the size and thread pitch for it? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.
