I need a new center flip-down armrest rather badly. I've seen pictures of cars that have had them in cracked condition or whatnot, but this one's well and truely destroyed. The whole top part is ripped away, leaving the foam underneath.
I suppose I could cover it if absolutely necessary, but I'd rather replace it unless the replacement cost is insanely high. I didn't see it on Fastlane. Does anyone know if they're available at all? I think I have a Palomino (sp?) interior, but I"m not 100% sure that's the right name... Thanks!

Arm Rest
Warden,
I have one but what color are you looking for? This one is palomino. They are easy to recover and I might have what you need. Ben, Across the bay |

It's tan. Again, I think Palomino's right, but I'm not 100% sure.
Attached is a picture of the interior; maybe that'll help? Re-covering's a possibility, I suppose...but I can't sew for anything *lol*

Try this company.
http://www.gahhinc.com/mercedes.html I priced out a leather armrest cover from them just a few weeks ago and, if I remember correctly, it was about $70 or $75 for my 300SD. That's somewhat reasonable I suppose. I you had the other cover you could probably take it to an upholstery shop and they could probably make you one for even less. The color match might be an issue though so if you choose to go that route you should check their raw material color against the interior in your car. I suppose GAHH goes to greater lengths to match Mercedes color standards better. Also, from what I've read, these are relatively simply to recover with a kit such as this. I wouldn't go out and buy a whole new armrest unless you could get it for $100 or less with the cover already on it. Good luck. |
