80 300d power windows
the window switches on my 1980 300d are not getting power. Does anyone know what su[plies power to the switches. All the fuses look good and I dont see any listing for power windows on cover. Anybody experienced this?

Had the same problem with my 82 300D. There is a relay (small, square, plug-in can looking thing) behind the instrument cluster, directly in the middle, it controls all the windows. The cluster slid out easy on my car,and, if I recall, I did disconnect the speedo cable(but not the oil pressure sending line) may have unhooked both, can't remember. The relay can't be reached from underneath because I couldn't reach around the metal part it is mounted to. My son diagnosed the relay as "no good, pop". I called Phil at Fastlane(great guy,and a sponsor here) and the part was at my door the next day. I got this information from a search I did on this site which I can't seem to locate now. We're lucky to have such a friendly bunch here who are willing to share. Hope this helps and my information is accurate. If only my memory worked as well as my Benz.
