Does anyone know if a differential from a 1975/76 300D W115 will bolt up to a 1982 300D W123 chassis? Are the axle shafts the same?

I see a candidate differential/axle shaft set on EBay that came from a W115 and has only 27,000 miles. Since I only need the differential, I'd be willing to part out the axle shafts to someone else if they should fit the W123 (and I should win the auction).

My current differential whines a bit and has about 70 degrees of slack/slop whatever you want to call it, measured at the driveshaft end.
