OK all you Diesel Heads. I need some specifics as to the difference between a '80 300D non-turbo head and a '83 300D Turbo head.
I know the turbo lower end of the engine is different from the non-turbo. My concern is the top-end.. the head, intake/exhaust valves, valve guides, combustion chamber size, injectors, manifolds, etc.. I need this info for a project that I may do. I have a very good non-turbo head that I'm thinking of putting on a turbo engine with a BAD head. Thank you all in advance.. Jay |

I believe they are not interchangeable. I know for a fact the pre-chambers are different, The valves are different also. I don't know if the base head is the same or not.
What is the matter with the turbo cyl head??? |

Don't know yet. Just going by what the seller is telling me.
I'm going to look at it this weekend. Pre-chambers can be removed if you have the tool. My concern is the BASE head. Since they are both flat after the prechambers are removed.
