1 year and 16,000 miles later
One year ago I bought my 1st benz, couldn't be happier with any other used car. Here is a breakdown of expenses.
Fuel: 16,000 miles @ 32 mpg = 500 gal. @ $1.28 avg = $625.00 5 oil changes @$15.00 = $75.00 manual heater valve--------------------------------------------- $27.00 primer pump $ 15.00 vacuum element--------------------------------------------------$27.00 4 cheap gabrial shocks(never again) $90.00 door lock mechanism--------------------------------------------$120.00 Steering damper $28.00 Brake discs, pads and shoes---------------------------------$200.00 While it may look costly, it isn't. A lot of these costs are non routine and are for replacement of 20 year old parts. Keeping this classic in good order is important to me and I enjoy greasing my knuckles and face. I can't help but compare MB diesel owners to Harley Davidson owners in our enthusiasm and dedication to our vehicles. Just thought I'd let you know, thebern PS thanks for all the help you all!
