One year ago I bought my 1st benz, couldn't be happier with any other used car. Here is a breakdown of expenses.

Fuel: 16,000 miles @ 32 mpg = 500 gal. @ $1.28 avg = $625.00
5 oil changes @$15.00 = $75.00
manual heater valve--------------------------------------------- $27.00
primer pump $ 15.00
vacuum element--------------------------------------------------$27.00
4 cheap gabrial shocks(never again) $90.00
door lock mechanism--------------------------------------------$120.00
Steering damper $28.00
Brake discs, pads and shoes---------------------------------$200.00

While it may look costly, it isn't. A lot of these costs are non routine and are for replacement of 20 year old parts. Keeping this classic in good order is important to me and I enjoy greasing my knuckles and face.

I can't help but compare MB diesel owners to Harley Davidson owners in our enthusiasm and dedication to our vehicles.
