Finally found it!!!
Well, I finally found a 5 speed manual transmission.. I picked up a rather great 1983, 280CE with 137,000 miles on it and am going to snatch the 5 speed out for the "Intercooled Super Diesel".
Since I'm not the least interested in a gas car, I'll be selling it off, if anyone is interested. Monday I'm taking the car to a local MB dealer and having him do a compression test so that I can supply it to anyone interested and will put up pictures. I runs great, ran it around the block to check the tranny, lots of power. It's a euro model with euro bumpers, the 240D a/c, heater controls, etc. Ben www.reproduce100s.com

Wow! I like that car...
so what kinda transmission are you gonna install in it? The 4-speed auto? Would it be correct for the 280CE though? Thanks
