Question Removing fuel sending unit

Just something that popped into my mind after reading another post was that my fuel level gauge moves around quite a bit. I've got the tank almost empty right now in preparation (among other things) to replace a couple of fuel lines that come out of the tank and are appearing to leak. I know I should pull the fuel strainer; I assume that's the object at the bottom of the tank, and looked pretty easy to get to, at elast with the axleshafts off. But, where do I access the fuel sending unit to remove it? Now's an ideal time, with the car out of service and the weather being bad enough that I can't work on the front end (the rear end's under an overhang, though).

I don't remember anyone on here talking about how to go about removing the sending unit from the tank, and my Haynes manual makes no mention of the sender's location.

Thanks in advance!
