Block Heater Location

Heard it might be possible I have a block heater and just need a cord. How best can I try to see if I have one? The car is an 83 300D W123. Is it easier to find from under the car? I read some discussions about various types of heaters. My 2 cents, the car is fine 'till about 6 degrees F, at that point starting is an iffy proposition at best. I put a 500W Hologen lamp right up against the oil pan overnight, hit the glow plugs 5 times and it started on the first crank at -10 degrees F. I'm going to put an adhesive type heater on the thing if there is no block heater. I am using Power Service Diesel fuel supplement too to help combat gelling. On real cold days I run it up to temp at lunch time and this gets me through the day. I live in New England so this probably wouldn't work say in Canada or northern Maine.
