.25 mega miles

What is the appropriate thing to do when your Benz rolls over 250,000? When mine turned 200,000 I pulled over and took a picture of the odometer and stopped at a gas station , got some chocolate Twinkies and coffee and had a short celebration.

Maybe I should go to a car wash and make sure it looks real nice and take the wife out to a nice restaurant.

It’s my 81 240D. The Houston car is only at about 225,000.
We received the badges for both cars already.

BTW, it was 10 below zero here a few weeks ago and both of the 240Ds started without a problem. I think this would indicate that there is a lot of life left in them.

I have been using 5W40 synthetic oil with power service fuel additive.

Get used to it!

I don't know of any 'ritual' to celebrate this milestone, but get used to it as you should have many more to come. When I turned 230,000 I just thought about where I and the benz would be at 250 and 300K. To celebrate; just do whatever feels right at the moment!

My odometer is dead

every 10-15 miles it sometimes registers as 1 mile. Last time I took the cluster out I took the odometer out and tryed getting it working agian, at least I got it to register something.

I figure I'm at 235-240k at least, it could be as high as 250k depending on how long the odometer was dead.
