gauges, turn signals inoperative - any hints?

The fuel and temp gauges, as well as the turn signals are not working on my '78 300d. I looked at the fuses, they seem fine.
The 4 way flashers go, but I get nothing from the turn signal stalk. My wife told me that the wipers were not going either, but they are working now. What do I look for? is there a relay that would control this stuff? do I just start taking apart the dashboard in this area?
Thanks in advance, Andy

Last year I lost all electrical on my '82 300 CDT. No wipers, windows, turn signals, gages etc. Turned out to be the hazard switch was moved into a neuatral position instead of either on or off. Your problem may be simialr.....switch may be bad.

Might also be related to the main power plug that goes into the back of the instruent cluster. Very easy to pull the cluster forward enough to check and see if it is connected to the back of the instrument panel.

Rainy weather and gauge problems

It rained quite a bit here in PA today and while driving on I-81 my fuel gage and water temp gauge quit as well as my turn signals. My oil pressure gauge and wipers worked fine. When I stopped at an off ramp, the water/fuel gauges and turn signals would work again. I just attributed it to something getting wet, but what? The fuse box is up pretty high and is covered.

Mine happened when it got wet too, don't know if it is related. I checked the windows and they don't work either, so I am going to start by taking apart the center console and making sure everything looks ok there.
ZAT - when yours went bad, was it the switch for the four ways, a loose connection, something else????
thanks.
