Can't stop smiling from my new purchase!

I am extremely happy with the 1983 300D that I just purchased from Adam (rudolphgreen) from the forum. He met me half way across the state which I really appreciated. The car is even more than I was hoping for I couldn't be more happy! I and everyone that has seen the car loves the color. Adam has done some top notch work to the car and I can't believe what nice condition the car is in, inside and out. The car runs down the road at any speed (I was over 90 mph) for a minute! The car handles extraordinarily well and has an excellent ride. The sound system in it sounds awesome no matter what your playing. I just thought I would share my happiness with everyone. Thanks again Adam this car will receive nothing but TLC for the rest of it's life. Here is some of the info about the car.

1983 Mercedes-Benz 300DT, 3.0L Inline 5 Turbo Diesel, 237,000, Automatic. Rare Russet Brown.
2nd owner since 2005, Rig has been custom modified as a highway cruiser. Everything has had attention at one time or another. Here is a list of the highlights.
Vogtland Series II Sport Suspension, 40mm drop front, 30rear. This was a special group buy that I put together on peachparts.com (Vintage Mercedes Diesel Forum)
Bilstein HD Shocks. Increased dampening, firm not harsh. Ride overall is outstanding, upgraded sway links, stays flat in the corners. Factory skid plate.

Ronal 16" Wheels. Period specific AMG Stock from the 123 chassis era. 8.5" width, Low ET. Currently running Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Stock Bundts included.
AirResearchT3 Turbo.48trim in good shape. Upgraded Bosio injectors bench tested @147bar. Smooth power upgrade, slight mpg gain.

2.47 Rear End, pulls strong on the open road 75+mph, near 30mpg. Fischer-Hydraulik Stainless Steel brake lines, rock solid braking, less fade.
Custom intake, Stefs Fabrication Oil Separator, Green Air Filter, EGR delete. Modified afterglow glow plug system.
Plantdrive VegTherm Inline Fuel Heater. Stanadyne FM100 Inline Fuel Filter. Veg ready. Was brewing my own biodiesel, but you can run clean WVO three season.
Hella H4 Ecode Headlights. H1 Yellowstar Fogs. Drastically improved lighting overall. Glass tint 35% on the sides, 20% in the back.
Alpine CD deck, 4.5" front. Custom rear deck, 12" Blaupunkt subwoofer, 6.75" Separates, 2 Blaupunkt Amps. 1.0Farad Capacitor. Sounds great.
EGT Probe/VDO Pyrometer, and VDO Voltage Monitor inset in custom real carbon fiber faceplate.

Here is a picture of me and Adam and my two pretty daughters who were very excited about the new purchase!

Here's my oldest son's reaction when he first saw it.

Sorry for the long thread....just super stoked about this beautiful car, by the way I already named her Sasha.

Congratulations on your new purchase. looks like you have a nice well taken care of MB.

Now you will have to bring it on over the the North West GTG on the 17th to show it off .

It should last you a loooong time.

You know I was seriously considering coming over Andrew had given me a heads up about it but that block of vacation at work was already full. I really hope to make it over there next year that trip would be a blast, plus the wife has been bugging for a trip like that.

My wife had an 83 300TD in the same color. We took it from Texas to Wisonsin one time when the kids were elementary school age. That thing was a great long run cruiser.

Is this your first 123 car?

I am super impressed with the tires, between the tires and the suspension the car handles incredibly well and has a teriffic ride. I paid $2500 for the car, and alot of extra goodies that got thrown in with it.

Yeah I was stoked it had the 16*8.5 penta wheels on it sure gives you some good grip with the bigger tires. I am going to restore the wheels as soon as I get a chance. As mentioned above I paid $2500 for the car and a bunch of extra goodies he threw in.

My plans are to put on a uber nice set of euro bumpers I aquired a few months ago and a mint set of vacuum adjust euro headlights on it, and then get the air conditioning working again and any other small things that are needed. I will post pics as I make progress.

Thanks again Adam this car has brought joy to my life I have really enjoyed it! The family and I have gone touring around in it everyday since I brought her home. I have received numerous compliments on it, even had strangers pull in and tell me she's a beauty!
