Fun diesel story...

So last night SWMBO and I are sitting around in the living room watching "Spy Games" with Robert Redford and Bradd Pitt on the electric television. Those forumites who've seen this flick know that there's lots of W115 and 123 action shots in the Beruit scenes.

At one point in the movie, somebody pulls up in a 'million mile taxi' and while it is sitting there idling in that oh-so-lovely, MBZ OM klatta, klatta, klatta, sort of way, Molly the dog perks her ears up, looks right at the TV speaker and and starts up with her distinctive bark announcing: "Hey everybody Mom and Dad are home!!"

And who said that dogs couldn't tell the difference between a diesel and a gasser.

Have a great weekend!

R Leo

A manual TV has a crank on it for changing channels.

Too bad that 123 diesel ends up getting trashed. At least it smokes the tires going in reverse before it smashes into the front of the car behind it. If only it had US bumpers instead There are other Mercedes in that movie too. I think some high-ranking guy rides in a W126.

New diesel/WVO story...

So yesterday, I took the chow-pack to the boof to get their hairs done for the holidays and something really weird happened.

It was raining hard so I backed the wagon up, close to the door of the groomers shop, eft the engine running and opened the lid to extract the dogs. I'm waiting inside for them to get the dowgs and I hear David, one of the groomers, shout "something's on fire somewhere." Some frantic scurrying is taking place in the back and I'm wondering what I'll need to do to help them with their 4-legged clients. After a minute or two, they can't find any problem and Lisa comes to the front to get my dogs. She comments that the smell is stronger in the front of the shop...at which point I've managed to connect all the dots and think to ask, "Is what you're smelling anything like a hot frying pan?"

"Yeah, that's what it is" she replys.

"It's my car. I'm running it on cooking oil. That's the way the exhaust smells."

It looks like the dog has a black tongue!

Don't know as if I've ever seen a black tongued dog before. Maybe it spends a lot of time under the car?

Randy, you might consider hitting the circuit with some of those tales (and tails).

Been watching the weather and all of Texas is going to be mildew city before long. Send some of that wet stuff over here. We're still in a drought.

"SWMBO??? What does that mean? RT"

She who must be obeyed.

Originally from an old African legend made famous by H. Rider Haggard (King Solomon's Mine..Allan Quatermain) in his book/ short story/serial/whatever entitled SHE. Published in 1880's.

Recycled in a D movie and in TV later.
