 Another Quiz for everyone regarding CRANKSHAFTS. What's the difference between a crankshaft in a diesel engine and a crankshaft in a gasoline engine? :-) Eric |

 Size, weight, journal "throw", bearing size -- but that is true of all engines, cranks are all different. MB diesel cranks look a lot like their gas engine cranks except for longer throw on the journals (longer stroke), and even that isn't huge. They are all, as far as I can tell, nitrided, the are all pretty beefy, and they all have HUGE bearing areas compared to a Chevy -- the Chevy 350 crank is actually larger diameter at the bearings, but they are about half the width.....
