Vacuum pump/timing gear
After a vacuum pump failure and pieces destroying, theinjection timing gear and chain I have it back. Fast lane $1000 and $767.00 at Mercedes for adjustments the car runs great.
Its quite ,has good power and best of all the transmission has never shifted better. I quess sometimes its better to bite the bullet and let a proffesional finish. On to the next 100K. ![]()

ricali, WHAT vehicle are you referring to, your 300E or the 4-matic? (I presume this was a subject on a previous thread?)
Crumbling vac pumps were notorious in some diesels in the '86 -'87 frame, the 350D and 300SDL were affected I believe. There was even a factory memo that covered this. Of course out of warranty that wasn't their problem! Dieseldiehard '71 220 (gas) 4 spd stick, present project '79 300TD w/ '85 turbodiesel engine '83 300D '85 300TD |
