help! - fuse two and twelve keep blowing

Last night I attempted the odometer fix to no avail - the screw head stripped and couldn't get the little rod out - okay, no big deal, I will live with it - so I put everything back together and today fuses number two and twelve keep blowing. These fuses have to do with items in the instrument panel and indicator lights. I am considering pulling the instrument panel and checking everything. Any guidance out there?

Which model are we talking about ? As you suspect though , something is causing a short behind the cluster, try pulling it out again and check that a plug isn't coming apart or ???. It's likely something simple , not that I would know that by experience or anything . Good luck.

found it!

Kyle,

Thanks for your guidance - I took the instrument cluster out this morning (with wife and kiddies waiting to use the car, you know the drill) and found that when I had put it back together the other night the, I must have tucked the leads to one of the indicator bulb in the wrong place because the face of the speedometer had pushed against the lead just enough to expose the tiniest sliver of the wire - and this is what was shorting out on the face. So I wrapped the lead in electrical tap and tucked it where it belonged. Put everything back together and all set. Thanks, Paul
