That would be me who wants that car.... two-tone interior, genuine white ivory steering wheel, separate starter button, beehive glow plug indicator and oil-bath air filter.
-unfortunately 3,000 miles away. Btw, an interesting, uncommon problem with primitive 190b diesels was the engine might start running backwards..... caughing and spitting in reverse cycle.

240DieselDog,
The push rod engines would also run with an exhaust push rod out of place. It would fire and exhaust into the intake manifold, then intake, compress and fire again. Happened to me. Sure made a funny noise running that way. Wasn't there a flapper valve in the intake manifold to stop the engine and block exhaust from going into the air cleaner? You could only get the engine to run backward by using a roll start and putting in reverse and rolling forward or putting in forward and rolling backward. All a Diesel needs is air, fuel and compression to run. They don't care which way they are rotating. Of course they won't run long because the oil pump is going the wrong way. P E H |
