300sdl + alda

Hello All,

Did a search on this - found lots of info but couldn't find the answer to these questions.

I was replacing the fuel shutoff on my 87 300SDL and was attempting to remove the ALDA - I could not break it loose using 2 crescent wrenches on the Injector pump nut and the ALDA nut. However, I DID manage to unscrew the Injector pump nut from the injector pump which resulted in the ALDA unscrewing from the Injector pump. However, it unscrewed about 1/2 inch and then continued to turn but would not pull free. I screwed it back in but now I'm wondering if turning the ALDA in this way damage it or the injector pump??

Also, should the ALDA hold vacuum or slowly leak down? Mine leaks down.

And I'm STILL trying to properly separate the ALDA from the pump.

Thanks for the help.
